Religion is an integral part of everyday life for many of the children, especially in the culturally and religiously diverse community of WTPS. Here at our school we learn about different religions, belief systems, festivals and rituals. Where possible, each year group visit places of worship linked to the religion they are studying. In addition to the dedicated Religious Education lessons that follow the London Borough of Redbridge agreed Syllabus, we have religious learning that takes place in our assemblies which all pupils attend. RE at WTPS allows our pupils to have a sense of identity and belonging. It teaches pupils to develop respect for others, including people with different faiths and beliefs and helps to challenge prejudice. Within teaching RE, we seek to encourage empathy, generosity and compassion, exploring how they might contribute to their own communities and the wider world.
